The owner of a Kaltura video appears as the name under the entry, and has full rights over the video. It is recommended that Faculty own the videos they appear in, and that support staff be co-editors and co-publishers so that we might have the highest possible level of access to provide support. To change ownership:- Go to My Media, by clicking Settings (at the top of Canvas) > My Media (or on the course My Media link, if enabled)
- Edit the desired video, and click on the Collaboration tab
- Add yourself as both a co-editor and co-publisher before transferring ownership
- Click + Add Collaborator
- Check both co-editor and co-publisher
- Enter your SUNet ID and Add -- note: your name will not appear in the dropdown menu
- Change the ownership
- Click Change Media Owner
- Enter the SUNet ID of the desired owner, and Save
All changes are applied immediately. If you accidentally change ownership without adding yourself, but still need to access the video, it is necessary to file a ticket to request assistance.
